Eisenhorn back in high school, I felt like it was the wild variety and complexity of the Abnettverse that really glowed in a sea of samey space marines. I didn't like the later two books as much as I did the first one. The Ravenor trilogy, collected in this Omnibus, takes place in the bleak setting of Warhammer 40,000, where there is only war. Overall, I think the Eisenhorn novels are a good read, even for those who are not into Warhammer 40K. I think the extreme time-jumps played a part in that. So you're getting a review for the whole kit and caboodle.
